I'm not so sure, but this is probably the first Google Doodle logo associated with Macedonia. Today is the Independence Day of R. Macedonia. 21 years ago my country gained its independence from SFR Yugoslavia.
The location on the doodle is Ohrid Lake - the most beautiful part in Macedonia. In the surroundings of the lake you can see the Church of St John the Theologian - Kaneo. A beautiful place that everyone should visit :)
